Kindergarten We are in the middle of the 4th 9 weeks and time has flown by. To get in the mood for Spring I read the book Waiting forWings and the students have drawn and will be painting their own butterfly. Open House is this week and the students' Waterlilies look terrific in the hallway. We will be doing one more lesson before the end of school.
1st Grade The 4th 9 weeks is quickly going by. The students have learned about the artist Joseph Stella and have looked at his painting The Bridge. They are drawing thier own bridges now and will be coloring with oil pastels and painting them. This will probably be the last lesson of the school year. Be sure and check out the students' Abstract Flowers in the hallway during Open House.
4th Grade The 4th 9 weeks is halfway over. The students learned about the artist Grant Wood and made their own landscape picture. Next, we are taking a look at masks from around the world and the students will be drawing their own mask design and pressing it into a piece of metallic foil. This will be the last project of the year. Check out their Three Musicians hanging in the hallway during Open House. They look amazing!
